  3. Grocery Card Update - PC and Co-op Cards have been received. We are just waiting for the Sobey cards before we can distribute the December cards to the students.
  4. Winter Plants Pick-up is this Tues Dec 9th, 3 - 5pm in the music room
  5. Casino - We still need help! Please sign-up for a shift for either Thursday April 9 or Friday April 10. A few hours of time for $80,000 in revenue is a fantastic Rate of Return!
  6. January Girls in Jazz and in Girls in Brass Workshops - early bird registration this Friday Dec 12. WAMPA will reimburse registration fees. See posters below for details.
  7. Music Students Holiday Social - Thursday Dec 18 after school in the music room. Posters and sign-ups will be posted on the whiteboard in the music room, this week.
  8. Performances by Mr. Gingrich, Ms. Olivier and Mr. Brown - see info below for their concert events.

Message from the CBE Fine Arts Specialist

Abe Music Students were truly the highlight of the evening. Their talent and discipline were remarkable, but even more inspiring was the joy they brought to the stage. You could see how much they loved every moment of performing—their smiles, confidence, and energy made the entire concert feel alive. Their joy in music shone through so clearly and watching them so happy and fully immersed in their art brought me tremendous joy as well. This is the power of the arts in public education. It was a privilege to witness them having such a meaningful and uplifting experience.

William Aberhart Music Parents Association—your support is invaluable. Thank you so much for your partnership with the school. The strength of any fine and performing arts program is often a reflection of its community, and it is evident that your support and involvement play a vital role in the students’ success.

Other Notes:

Parents: In order to support our students to continue achieving this high level of success, we need your help. The number of parents attending Board meetings are dwindling. At the last two meetings we did not have quorum for motions and decisions to be approved. Without quorum we're at risk of not being able to meet bylaw and society requirements. We invite you to attend our next Board meeting on January 12 using Google Meet, see what we do and learn how you can keep your level of participation to a manageable amount.

Sunday December 14, celebrating the artistic impact of 15 wonderful seasons by the Calgary Women’s Chorus. Featuring guest artists, Foothills Brass, Lily String Quartet, soprano Krista de Silva and more!
