- Students who choose not to write at a later date will receive their school-awarded mark as their final official course mark
- Students may choose to write January diploma exams in April or June 2026

June Exam Schedule and Reminders
ABE - June Exam Schedule | 2026
All exam times listed include access to double time for every student.
Diploma Exams: Designed for completion in 3 hours (9:00 AM–12:00 PM) or 2.5 hours (9:00 AM–11:30 AM). All students, however, may use up to double time, meaning a maximum of 6 hours (until 3:00 PM) for 3 hour exams or 5 hours (until 2:00 PM) for 2.5 hour exams.
School-Based Exams: Designed for completion in 1.5 hours, but students may use up to 3 hours total if needed.
Exam Information
- All exam times listed include double time (see note above).
- Students should arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the exam.
- Valid photo ID is required for entry into the exam room.
- Students must bring necessary materials (e.g., pencil, eraser, pen, correction tape, highlighter, approved calculator, transparent water bottle, snack in a clear bag, etc.).
- Coats, hats, backpacks, phones, smartwatches, headphones/earbuds, and other electronic devices are not permitted in the exam room.
Exam Conflict
In the unlikely event that a student has two exams scheduled in the same block, accommodations may be arranged on a case-by-case basis in consultation with Mr. MacCarl (brmaccarl@cbe.ab.ca) prior to June 1.
MEGA Blocks
Attendance is mandatory for all students and attendance will be taken.
Tutorials
- Communicated by departments or individual teachers.
Textbooks
Textbooks should be returned to the Business Office prior to exams.
Credit Recovery
Targeted support, assistance or intervention for students who have not yet met essential course outcomes and are at risk of not receiving credit in a course.
Lockers
Students may access their lockers during the exam break, but all food and containers must be removed before their final exam and summer break.
Personal Electronic Devices
Prohibited Items in a Diploma Exam: According to Alberta Education having the following objects on your person during a Diploma examination is prohibited and could result in having a student’s Diploma mark invalidated (score of zero on the exam).
Prohibited electronic devices include:
- Cellphones
- Digital Audio Players
- Smart watches
- WI-FI capable head phones
- Electronic organizers
- Hand-held electronic dictionaries
- Any other portable electronic devices
- French/English print dictionary
- French/English print thesaurus
- Exam supervisors will clear calculators as students enter and exit the exam. All calculators will be cleared back to original factory settings, free of any extraneous programs or built in notes.
- DO NOT bring your calculator cover. Leave it in your locker or at home
Please leave all of the above electronic items in your locker or at home during exam time.
