Debate and Ethics Club

Grade 10 to 12 students

Are you interested in debate? Whether you have some experience or no experience at all, you are welcome to join the club to gain public speaking skills, learn how to articulate arguments, clarify your ideas, make new friends and have fun.

We will also have an ethics component to the club to view current events, societal dilemmas, and various life situations through an ethics lens. It will give you an opportunity to discuss societal topics, reflect on different values, beliefs, and norms, and compete in the Ethics Bowl.

We will have weekly meetings in a friendly, no pressure environment, to enjoy learning debate skills, and to share opinions & thoughts on ethics.

Students will have the opportunity to compete in debate and/or ethics tournaments against students from other schools in person or online is some cases.

Meetings/practices: Tuesdays after school at 3:40 in room 232.
